Pretty tasty donuts! Fairly decent service too. Didn't have a huge variety, wish they had more.

I swing in here now and again when I'm scheduled to work so early that I all I crave is a donut and coffee. Since the price is so nice, I never buy just one, I always go with a box of a dozen, and hope that puts a smile on my co-workers faces. It always does. Nice selection, and a friendly staff. I wish they served better coffee, but something about what they serve reminds me of going back in time to before every city and town had at least two dozen specialty coffee shops. Can't knock Davis Donut! They're a staple of Coeur d'Alene, and I hope they're around forever.

Honest local business- you can walk in and say "I want that one" and the women behind the counter will explain the doughnut.

If you are looking for a classic donut shop you have found it at Davis Donuts. Everything you would expect to find- Good donuts, friendly service and plenty of room to sit down and enjoy them both. Had a nice conversation with Dianne (owner) and we will go back.

Donuts weren't fresh. Had a much better experience at Donut House where the donuts were amazing.

I've been in and out of Davis Donuts since I was a kid- It's pretty much a local icon that has remained the same while everything else around it has changed. One of the reasons I believe that they have been able to last this long is that they do donuts well. Unfortunately if you want a decent coffee to go along with it, I've found your out of luck. I stopped by out of pure nostalgia recently, to grab a donut and a coffee to go. To my surprise, they were serving espresso drinks as well (don't know how long its been going on, but shows how often I stop in), and with some hesitation looking at the mini espresso machine in the back, decided to order a double shot of espresso to go instead of grabbing a black coffee. I should have known I was in trouble when she asked me what size I would like my espresso shots (like 12/16/20 oz). It became obvious this was the first time that probably anyone had just ordered an espresso because I was charged 50 cents total (the extra shot charge on the menu) for the coffee. So, I ended up being down 50 cents which is no big deal, but the shots honestly weren't worth the quarters. I don't consider myself that much of a snob, but it was very obvious the machine had not been cleaned in a long time and girl running it had never really been trained. Here's my thoughts: I don't expect "classic" cafes like this to really pull great shots of coffee in this area, if I did I would be setting myself up for a life of disappointment. But as an establishment, if your not going to even try to do something well, then why are you offering it on your menu? If you only do donuts well, then keep to it, and drop the coffee- otherwise, take care for what you serve, because when a customer is only ordered a donut and coffee and the coffee is bad, those better be some really good donuts to get them to come back.

I don't have donuts all that often, but if I do this place is a very good choice. The donuts are always fresh and never greasy and the service here is great to top it off. The only weakness for me is the coffee is on the light side for my taste. I like mine on the dark and bold side and the coffee here reminds me of diner coffee.
